The Details:

In the event chart for Mercury's station in Scorpio, Mars is perched on the ascendant in cancer slowing down to halt as it prepares to enter it's own retrograde on December 5th in Cancer. Filling out the third house of Virgo, we have the Moon in it's joy conjoining with Ketu. Mercury is stationed in the fifth house of Scorpio along with the Sun, while opposing Jupiter who is currently retrograde in the fixed sign of Taurus. Venus is residing in the sixth house, having recently passed an exact sextile to the eighth house Saturn in Aquarius. Our benefics exchange places by Parivartana Yoga, which helps ease some of the malefic sixth house themes. Although, with Jupiter being retrograde, the benefits are more protective rather than outwardly beneficial in gains. Saturn rules both the seventh and eighth houses signifying strained relationships between both the people and the government in terms of resources, while also signifying strained relationships with US allies which may affect trade as the North Node resides in the ninth house and South Node in the third with the Moon. Mercury has strong significations within trade, so this station in the fifth house three signs from the Moon ruled by Mercury is really amplifying these themes.
When we lay this transit over the Libra Ingress chart, we have Mercury stationing in the ingress' third house. Once again bringing in third house themes such as communication, trade, and travel. The IC of the Mercury station in Scorpio chart is at an almost exact conjunction with Venus in the second house of Libra in the Libra Ingress chart. I see this amplifying themes around national debt, housing prices, vehicle prices, food prices, and discussion about inflation. Especially with Venus in Sagittarius transiting the fourth house of the Libra ingress chart. Topics that involve the impacts the government spending has directly on the people seems to be highlighted as well with transit Moon at the midpoint of the Sun and Mercury in the ingress chart. There are a lot of first second third and sixth house themes activated in both the Mercury Station chart and the Libra Ingress chart, implying a stronger focus on these areas of the country during this time.
When we add in midpoints, the houses pulled from both charts begin to paint a full picture of the interactions going on in a more miniscule scale. For my analysis on this retrograde station, I focused on midpoints to the planets Mercury, Mars, The Sun, The Moon, and the Vernal Point.
Midpoints list:
Mercury: Jupiter/Anti-Vertex, Moon/EMF, South Node/Saturn, Jupiter/Lot of Fortune, Sun/Saturn, Vertex/Midheaven, Anti-Vertex/IC.
Mars: Uranus/Lot of Fortune, Lot of Spirit/South Node, Sun/North Node, Mercury/EMF, Vertex/Saturn, Pluto/Descendant. Moon/South Node, IC/Lot of Spirit.
Sun: Mars/Vernal Point, Ascendant/Neptune, Moon/Descendant, South Node/Pluto, Lot of Fortune/Venus, South Node/Pluto, EMF/Neptune, EMF/VP.
Moon: Lot of Spirit/Venus, Anti-Vertex/Mercury, Anti-Vertex/Vertex, EMF/Vernal Point, Vertex/Pluto, Uranus/IC, Mercury/Sun, Saturn/North Node.
Vernal Point: Moon/South Node, Neptune/Vernal Point, Neptune/North Node, Moon/Pluto, Mercury/South Node, EMF/Anti-Vertex.
The Analysis
There will be a strong theme of revisiting topics about money and spending in the country during Mercury's back-track through Scorpio, with the midpoints to Mercury signifying a likelihood of losing trust from partners in international trade. Tariffs and government spending will come into a focus, this retrograde station is happening in the third house of Scorpio in the Libra Ingress, but the fifth house of the transit chart. The transit chart Ascendant is ruled by the third house Moon which falls on the ascendant of the Libra ingress. These are all interacting with the 7H Pisces North Node that we currently have in the ingress chart. I'm going to predict hostility from other countries in trade during this time, and that there is a high likelihood this will come from the discussion of tariffs Trump wants to place on goods from international trade.
With the trine between Mars, Mercury, and the North Node I also expect our presence in war to be escalated. Particularly considering the US's alliance with both Ukraine and Israel. Israel is committing a genocide and is also beginning to bomb more countries to expand it's power. While Ukraine is consistently needing more assistance defending their people against increasing attacks from Russia. I expect Ukraine, Russia, and Israel to increase attacks during this Mercury retrograde, and the United States may be called to have a bigger presence in both wars by the time Mars begins to retrograde on December 6th. The friction surrounding these wars and the looming tariffs will be a main theme leading into the Mars Retrograde. It will bring topics of government spending on war and also the question of whether the US will send more of it's own military into these war zones. There may be enough friction and tension leading up to these coinciding retrogrades that requires more direct influence and presence from the United States.
Looking further into the financial aspects of this Mercury retrograde through Scorpio, I want to bring up farmers. Farmers can be represented by Saturn from a world astrology perspective, and I would also apply the fourth house significations in this chart to farms, crops, and all things produced from farmed animals. Saturn is currently in the sixth house of the Libra Ingress chart and trine both Venus in Libra and Mars in Gemini in the ingress. Farms have been taking a big hit from both climate change and the brewing bird flu pandemic that has infiltrated many cattle and poultry farms across the country. Farmers are losing the resources they need to stay afloat with needing to cull animals when infection spreads to their farm, and this is lost income in an already tough to survive in industry. I'm predicting this is going to reach a critical point for farmers across the country, and they will likely need to ask for government assistance to financially stay afloat during this time.
Following the themes of things that are harming farmers, there is a strong likelihood for recalls to happen to milk and dairy products, and possibly even some canned goods. I have heard already that there has been raw milk being sold in stores in California that recently tested positive for bird flu. This news came out as Mercury was stationing, which I think is another good indication that this may become a bigger problem during both Mercury and Mars' retrogrades. I also expect food shortages liked with the H5N1 pandemic to begin increasing with a high likelihood of a shortage beginning in eggs and also an increase in poultry and beef prices.
An interesting prediction I have within these transits is something specific I am getting from Mars and Mercury. Mercury is retrograding through Scorpio, a sign of precision, while Mars is about to station in Cancer a sign which represents fertility, family, and pregnancy. With Mars trine Mercury, and mercury ruling the moon in Virgo conjoined the south node, I'm predicting an increase in vasectomies, tubal ligations, and more people opting to get an IUD in preparation for Project 2025 and the possibility of losing abortion and birth control rights.
This Mercury retrograde in Scorpio will have a certain hold over life as it is connected to and coinciding with the upcoming Mars retrograde. The events we see and experience with Mercury in the weeks leading up to the Mars Retrograde will be events that echo and build stronger as Mars begins it’s retrograde through Cancer and back into Gemini.
